ABSTRACT TESIS

Ina Herlina Kurniawati. The Relationship between Adversity Quotient and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Knowledge with Teacher’s Creativity. Thesis. Postgraduate Program of University of Pakuan Bogor. 2009.


This research is correlation research containing two independent variables, Adversity Quotient and ICT Knowledge, and a dependent variable is Teacher’s Creativity.

This research was carried out at SMKs which are having ICT department in Sukabumi City in 2009 using survey method. Respondents involved in this research were about 50 teachers, whose characterstic shown were adversity quotient, ICT knowledge and creativity.

The researcher used samples withdrawal technique that was proportional random technique. The data analysis was done through parametric statistics that used simple correlations and regression and also double correlation and regression. Hypotesis testing was done with significant level of 0.05 and 0.01.

The result of the research showed 3 (three) conclusion namely

(1) there is a very significant positive relationship between adversity quotient with teacher’s creativity that was shown by regression equation Ŷ = -79.4192 + 1.1906 X1, and correlation coefficient rr1= 0.573; (2) There is a very significant positive relationship between ICT knowledge with teacher’s creativity that was shown by regression equation Ŷ = -1.2229 + 3.1101 X2 and correlation coefficient ry2 = 0.491; (3) There is a very significant positive relation ship between adversity quotient and ICT knowledge together with teacher’s creativity, it was shown bycorrelation coefficienttry.12 = 0,502 and regression equation Ŷ = -92.542 + 0.913 X1 + 1.797 X2

Based on the result, we can conclude that teacher’s creativity can be increased through increasing adversity quotient and ICT knowledge.
